What Are You Feeding Your Soul?
What fills your mind doesn't always nourish your soul.
We often think about guarding our hearts when it comes to relationships or the people we spend time with.
But have you ever thought about guarding your heart from what you consume every day?
Every headline.
Every post.
Every video.
Every story.
It all leaves an impression.
Little by little, what fills your mind begins to shape the way you think, what you focus on, and even how you see the world.
That's why I've been trying to be much more intentional with what I allow into my daily routine.
I still want to know what's happening in the world—I just don't want the world's chaos to become the loudest voice in my life.
One thing that's really helped me is reading The Pour Over.
Instead of spending time bouncing between different news sites or getting caught up in fear-filled headlines, they send a short daily email that covers the biggest stories in a way that's clear, balanced, and easy to read.
What I appreciate most is that they include a Christian perspective throughout.
It's not about telling you what to think.
It's about helping you stay informed while remembering that God is still in control.
That simple reminder changes everything.
Now I can keep up with what's happening without feeling overwhelmed or distracted by it.
And honestly, I think more of us need that.
Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
Guarding your heart isn't only about avoiding bad influences.
It's also about intentionally choosing things that point your heart back toward Christ.
If you're looking for a healthier way to stay informed while keeping your focus where it belongs, I'd genuinely recommend The Pour Over.
It's completely free, takes just a few minutes to read, and more than 1.5 million Christians already start their day with it. You can join them by clicking the link HERE
Sometimes the best way to guard your heart isn't by tuning out the world…
It's by choosing a better way to engage with it.
With love,
Brandon
