Trusting God in the Waiting

When It Feels Like Nothing is Happening, God is Still Moving

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Waiting.
It’s that uncomfortable in-between space.
You’re not where you used to be, but not yet where you want to be.
It’s where your prayers hang in the air,
Your dreams feel delayed,
And your heart wonders, “God, did You forget me?”

But what if the waiting isn’t punishment…
What if it’s preparation?

1. The Waiting Season Is Not Wasted

We live in a world of instant results—fast food, same-day shipping, immediate answers.
But God doesn’t operate on our timeline.
He works with eternity in mind.
And often, He does His deepest work in our most silent seasons.

“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” — Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)

In the stillness, He is strengthening your spirit.
In the delay, He’s developing your character.
You may feel hidden, but you're not forgotten.
God is forming something beautiful in the quiet.

2. Waiting Requires Trust, Not Just Time

It’s one thing to wait.
It’s another to wait well.

You can either wait anxiously—gripping for control, doubting God’s timing…
Or wait faithfully—hands open, heart surrendered, eyes fixed on Him.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

Trust is a choice.
It’s the decision to believe that even when nothing seems to be happening…
God is still working.
Behind the scenes. Within your heart. Around every corner.

3. God Is Never Late—Only Perfectly On Time

It’s easy to feel like time is slipping away.
But God is not restricted by clocks or calendars.
He knows what He’s doing.
And when the time is right, He doesn’t delay.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.” — Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV)

You may not see the full picture now, but one day you will.
You’ll look back and say, “Ah… I see it now, Lord. You were always in it.”

4. Keep Worshipping While You Wait

David waited years before becoming king.
Joseph waited in prison.
Hannah waited with tears.
Abraham and Sarah waited for a child.
Even Jesus waited 30 years before beginning His ministry.

And yet—they worshipped.
They trusted.
They didn’t wait passively. They waited with expectation.

Let your waiting turn into worship.
Sing through the silence.
Praise through the process.
Because worship reminds your soul:
God is still worthy—no matter the season.

🙏 A Prayer for the Waiting Season

Lord, I don’t always understand the delays, but I choose to trust You.
Help me to see that this season isn’t wasted.
Teach me to wait with hope, not frustration.
Grow my faith in the silence.
Shape my heart in the stillness.
Remind me that You’re always on time, even when I feel behind.
I choose to believe You are working—even now.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
