Trusting God During Difficult Seasons

Finding Faith When Life Feels Uncertain

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”Proverbs 3:5-6

When Life Feels Uncertain

We all face seasons of difficulty—times when nothing makes sense, prayers seem unanswered, and our faith is tested. Maybe you’re dealing with financial struggles, health issues, broken relationships, or an unexpected loss. In those moments, trusting God can feel like the hardest thing to do.

But here’s the truth: God is still in control, even when life feels out of control. His plans are greater than our understanding, and His love for us never wavers—even in our darkest moments.

Trusting God in hard times isn’t about ignoring the pain; it’s about believing that He is working, even when we can’t see it.

1. Trust That God Sees the Bigger Picture

One of the hardest parts of trusting God is that we often don’t understand His timing or His ways. We want immediate answers, but God sees the bigger picture. He is writing a story far greater than we can imagine.

🔹 Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison—but God used it to position him to save an entire nation. (Genesis 50:20)
🔹 Job lost everything—his family, his health, his wealth—but God restored him and blessed him even more in the end. (Job 42:10)
🔹 Jesus faced suffering, rejection, and death—but through it, He brought salvation to the world.

Even when life feels unfair, God is working behind the scenes for your good.

✨ Ask Yourself: Am I trusting God’s plan, even when I don’t understand it?

2. Trust That God Will Provide

When we go through trials, it’s easy to feel like we are alone. But God promises to be our provider and our source of strength. He doesn’t always remove the storm, but He walks with us through it.

🔹 God provided manna for the Israelites in the wilderness. (Exodus 16:4)
🔹 God fed Elijah through ravens when he had nothing. (1 Kings 17:6)
🔹 Jesus reminded us not to worry because God cares even for the sparrows—how much more does He care for us? (Matthew 6:26)

If God takes care of the birds and the flowers, He will take care of you.

✨ Ask Yourself: Do I believe that God will provide for my needs?

3. Trust That God is Strengthening Your Faith

Hard times refine our faith. If life were always easy, we would never learn to rely on God. Trials are not meant to destroy us; they are meant to draw us closer to Him.

🔹 James 1:2-3 tells us to consider trials as joy because they produce perseverance.
🔹 Romans 5:3-4 says that suffering produces endurance, character, and hope.
🔹 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Your struggles are not in vain. God is using this season to strengthen your faith and prepare you for greater things.

✨ Ask Yourself: How is God growing my faith through this trial?

4. Trust That God is Always With You

When we’re struggling, we often feel like God is distant. But the truth is, He never leaves us.

🔹 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
🔹 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
🔹 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” (Psalm 23:4)

You may not feel Him, but God is holding you, guiding you, and walking with you every step of the way.

✨ Ask Yourself: Am I leaning on God’s presence or trying to face this trial alone?

Final Encouragement: Trust Him, Even in the Storm

Whatever you’re facing today, God is with you. He sees your pain, He knows your fears, and He is working all things for your good. You don’t have to have all the answers—just trust the One who does.

Even when you don’t understand.
Even when it hurts.
Even when it feels impossible.

Trust Him. He is faithful, and He will never let you go.

A Prayer for Trusting God in Hard Times

Heavenly Father,
I come to You with a heart that is weary and full of questions. I don’t always understand why things happen the way they do, but I choose to trust You. Help me to lean on Your promises, even when life feels uncertain. Give me the faith to believe that You are in control, the strength to endure, and the peace to rest in Your love. Remind me that You are always with me, guiding me through every storm. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge: This week, memorize Proverbs 3:5-6 and speak it over your life whenever worry or fear creeps in. Let God’s truth be your anchor.

With faith and trust,

Brandon
