God Will Use What Broke You

Your pain has a purpose in God's hands.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done…” — Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

💔 The Wounds We Don’t Talk About

Life breaks all of us at some point. Some wounds are loud and public — betrayal, loss, heartbreak. Others are quiet and hidden — disappointment, failure, emotional scars no one else sees. You may carry something in your heart today that has made you feel damaged, disqualified, or deeply discouraged. Maybe someone walked away. Maybe you’ve lost something you can’t get back. Maybe you’ve messed up so badly you wonder if restoration is even possible. But here’s the truth: what broke you doesn’t have to bury you. In God’s hands, even broken things become beautiful.

🔄 God Doesn’t Waste Pain

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…” — Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Pain hurts. But pain also shapes. And in the Kingdom of God, nothing is wasted — not the betrayal, not the mistakes, not even the years you think you lost. When Joseph’s brothers threw him in a pit, it looked like the end. But that pit was part of a much bigger plan. The very people who tried to ruin him ended up setting the stage for his greatest purpose. That’s the God we serve — a God who takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it into something redemptive. You don’t have to pretend your wounds don’t exist. You just have to trust that God can use them.

🔥 Your Story Still Matters

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3 (NIV)
You may feel like your story is too messy, your past too painful, your heart too shattered to be used. But God doesn't write perfect stories — He writes redemptive ones. The cracks in your life are not signs of weakness — they’re where His glory shines through. The testimony that will reach others most might be the very thing you wish you could hide. There are people who need to know how you survived. There are people who need your honesty, your healing, your scars. The parts of your story that feel broken now could become the bridge to someone else’s breakthrough later. Don’t disqualify what God is still developing.

🌅 Beauty from Ashes

“To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning…” — Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV)
We serve a God who brings beauty from ashes. He restores, renews, rebuilds. What you thought was a breaking point might actually be a building block. What you thought disqualified you might be the very thing that sets you apart. You don’t have to know how it will all work out — you just have to believe that it can. God isn’t done with your story. You are not too broken to be used — you’re exactly the kind of person God loves to raise up. He’s the God of comebacks. And yours is coming.

🙏 A Prayer for the Broken Places

Father, I give You the pieces. The parts of my heart that still ache. The memories that still sting. The moments I wish I could change. You see it all — and You still call me worthy. I surrender what broke me, and I trust You to use it for something good. Don’t let my pain be wasted. Redeem it. Heal me. And help me to believe that even in the brokenness, I am still in Your hands. Thank You for being a God who restores, renews, and writes better endings than I imagined. In Jesus’ name, amen.

📖 Scriptures to Meditate On This Week

Soak in these verses when the weight of the past starts to feel too heavy:

  • Genesis 50:20“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”

  • Romans 8:28“In all things God works for the good…”

  • Isaiah 61:3“Beauty for ashes, joy for mourning…”

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

  • Psalm 147:3“He heals the brokenhearted…”

🕊️ You’re Not Too Broken to Be Used

Your scars tell a story — not of shame, but of survival. Of a God who never left. Of grace that carried you through. Don’t let your past silence you. Let it strengthen you. God will use what broke you — and make it a platform for His glory.

With love & purpose,

Brandon
